Blocked Toilets
A toilet that will not flush, fills to the brim or gurgles whenever the laundry drains needs attention quickly. We clear the pan and soil pipe and restore the flush.
Short earthenware lengths under interwar allotments near Adamson Street leave many drain joints, so blocked drains in Wooloowin, from toilets and sewers to sinks, start with a call to (07) 3067 4271.
If we're late, $100 comes off your bill
Every drain job we take on sits under one of these six services, and the full detail is on our drain services page:

A toilet that will not flush, fills to the brim or gurgles whenever the laundry drains needs attention quickly. We clear the pan and soil pipe and restore the flush.

When every drain in the house slows together, the fault usually sits in the sewer line running from your boundary to the street main. We clear it and explain what caused it.

Kerb pits, gully traps and stormwater pipes that cannot cope with summer downpours leave water pooling in driveways and yards. We clear the line so run-off has an exit.

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry sinks, showers and floor wastes cleared with the electric eel and jet blasting, so slow fixtures run freely again instead of getting worse.

A camera pass shows exactly what is inside the pipe, from tree roots to a dropped joint, so the next step rests on evidence rather than guesswork about your drains.

Broken, cracked, root-damaged or collapsed pipes need more than clearing. We dig and replace where that is the answer, or reline the pipe where it suits the job better.

Wooloowin Same Day Blocked Drains is the blocked drain service for Wooloowin, Kalinga and Clayfield. We clear blocked toilets, sewers, stormwater lines and fixture drains, and we fix the pipes underneath them.
Who we serve. Interwar Queenslanders on generous allotments, plus a strong share of units east of the rail corridor. Both throw up drain trouble of their own kind, and as a locally owned business, not a franchise, we quote upfront and can usually come out the same day.

The interwar houses on the big allotments around Adamson Street and Bridge Street were drained in short clay lengths, which puts a joint every metre or so on a long run. One dropped joint under a backyard or driveway is enough to start a choke that builds from there.
Mature gardens on those same large blocks put roots right beside the drain runs. A root that finds a socket in the clay keeps growing into it until the line stops altogether.
The local soils set hard on the surface and soak up very little of the heavy rain, so water sheets across driveways and yards and lands on the kerb pits and gully traps of the lower streets in a rush.
Drain backing up right now? Three quick checks:

Most blockages give warning before they become an overflow. Watch for these:
usually means air is trapped by a partial choke further down the line.
often points to a blocked stormwater or sewer branch near that pit.
suggests the fault is in the shared line, not the fixtures themselves.
can mark a leaking or collapsed pipe running under it.

The fixed figure you approve covers the work described, and these factors shape it:
, including whether an outside gully gives a clear entry or the plumber has to work through a fixture.
, because deep earthenware lines take longer to clear and mend than shallow modern PVC.
, since grease, tree roots and a collapsed section are three very different jobs.
before any repair gets quoted.
One thing is not ours to fix: a choke in the Urban Utilities main out in the street is their job, and that is who you call.

The other local factor is where the water heads when it rains. Parts of the suburb sit on Council's mapped overland-flow paths, and the run-off travels down driveways and between houses toward the street pits on lower ground.
Rainfall averages around 1039mm a year, much of it from intense summer storm cells, so a partly blocked stormwater line gets found out fast. The housing mix adds load too:

On (07) 3067 4271, run through which fixtures are slow, gurgling or overflowing, so the plumber on the way knows where to start.

We show you the cause, talk through the fix and give a fixed upfront price, and work begins only when you are happy with it.

We shift the blockage with the electric eel or jet blasting, then run water through to confirm the drain is flowing the way it should.
The line gets a full flush until it runs clear, and you see it draining properly before the plumber heads off.

Access, depth, pipe material, the cause of the choke and whether a camera look is needed before quoting all shape the figure you approve.
A morning call usually means a plumber at your drain that day, though we qualify it because demand and travel across the northside shift, and we would rather under-promise than miss.
The pipes on your side of the connection point are yours, while the main under the street is Urban Utilities' responsibility, so a choke there is their job, not ours.
Wet wipes, paper towel, cotton buds, hygiene products, fats, oils and coffee grounds belong in the bin, since they never break down and instead build layer on layer inside the pipe.
We clear the line first, then a CCTV drain inspection shows the inside of the pipe, so roots, a dropped joint or a collapsed section can be seen for what they are.
